Wrecks Send Motorists to
Passengers in two cars that collided at the intersection of Highways 76 and T west of Ava last Wednesday were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Sgt. Keith Jones, of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, said Phillip M. Parker, 16, of Ava, driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse, made a left turn into the path of a westbound 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada driven by Stanley A. Peterson Jr., 65, of Kissee Mills. The two vehicles hit nearly head-on, Sgt. Jones said.
Taken to St. John's Hospital, Springfield, by ground ambulance, were Judy A. Peterson, 65, wife of Stanley Peterson, and Michelle M. Parker, 39, mother of Phillip Parker. Both of the injured women were in the front passenger seat of the respective cars.
Three other passengers in the Parker car escaped injury.
A Thornfield couple was airlifted to St. John's Hospital Sunday morning after the 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle they were riding hit a deer on US 160, two miles west of Theodosia.
A passenger, Adrienne T. Pfrommer, 52, suffered serious injuries, and the driver, John R. Pfrommer, 53, sustained moderate injuries in the crash which occurred at 7:48 a.m. The incident was investigated by Tpr. C.A. Hogue.
