Senator’s Listening Post

May 29, 2008

U.S. Senator Christopher S. “Kit” Bond announced this week that a special Listening Post Forum will be held on Thursday, June 5, in Ava.

A representative of the senator, Hollie Elliott, will be available to constituents at the Listening Post Forum to be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Ava Community Center.

Bond said: “These meetings give Missourians a chance to tell my staff what is on their minds and to ask important questions. Thousands of Missourians regularly use these meetings and my office to navigate the federal governmental maze.

“Helping people is what my staff and I do. That is why we are here. My office works only if people who need help come and ask for it. We hold Listening Post meetings to make sure people can get the help they need,” said Bond.

Bond began holding Listening Posts in 1987. The Jefferson City office also extends one-on-one service to all Missourians who have problems with the federal government.

Bond’s staff understands the frustration often experienced when working with a federal agency and is equipped to intervene for the constituent.

If you have a problem with a federal agency or would like to share your concerns, you also may write or call the senator’s statewide Office of Constituent Services at 308 East High Street, Suite 202, Jefferson City, MO 65101. The telephone number is 573-634-2488.
