Baccalaureate Sunday

May 8, 2008

The annual baccalaureate service for the Ava High School graduating class of 2008 will be held this Sunday evening, May 11, as the graduation process is set in motion.
The baccalaureate service is sponsored annually by the Ava Area Ministerial Alliance. The service will be held in the Ava High School gym, beginning at 6 p.m.

Commencement exercises for the class of 108 graduates will be held at 6 o’clock Saturday, May 17, at the football stadium.

Speaker at this year’s baccalaureate service will be Buddy Boyd, father of senior Brenna Boyd. The Ava Assembly of God Church will host a reception for seniors and their families following the service.

In addition to participation by members of the Ministerial Alliance, senior students have also been asked to have a part on the program. Ely Parker will have scripture reading and Trey Hathcock will share his Christian testimony with the attending audience.

Area church congregations and members of the community are invited to attend this special worship service in honor of the 2008 senior class.
