Bill “David” Martin, son of Adm. W.I. “Bill” Martin for whom Ava’s Bill Martin Memorial Airport is named, called the Herald Wednesday to set up a visit here. Mr. Martin, who lives in California, will be in Branson this weekend for a veteran’s reunion, and plans to visit Ava while in the area. While visiting his father’s home town, he would also like to meet and visit with folks who remember his father. An informal “meet and greet” visit has been tentatively set for 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Ava Airport.
