Two Plead Guilty To Tampering Charges
Douglas County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Wade said two men were sentenced to prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to charges of tampering with a motor vehicle.
Daniel Lakey, 23, of Seymour, pleaded guilty to tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections.
James Porterfield, 28, of Ava, pleaded guilty to tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and to property damage in the first degree. Porterfield received five years in the Department of Corrections on the tampering charge, and five years on the property damage charge, with the two sentences to run concurrently.
Porterfield was sentenced as a prior and persistent offender, Wade said.
Both appeared before Circuit Judge John Moody, of the 44th Circuit.
