Apr 10, 2008

The “Safe Routes to School” program begins Monday, April 14, and will last two full weeks, followed by two additional Mondays.

As part of the program, Ava High School Student Council members will be walking elementary students, kindergarten through grade 8, to and from school, from four posted locations in town. Those locations are: Curtis Department Store on NW 12th Ave.; Jack’s Automotive on S. Jefferson St.; Brookshire Apartments on NE 13th Ave.; and the tennis courts in the Ava City Park on NW 3rd Ave.

Students participating in the Safe Routes program will receive prizes and gift certificates.
