Timothy K. Kennemer, county executive director for the Douglas/Ozark County Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds producers that the final deadline is March 17 to apply for 2008 Non-Insured Assistance Program (NAP) coverage on spring planted crops which include: forage crops for hay and seed, forage sorghum, oats, corn, soybeans, sunflowers and all spring planted specialty crops grown for food. Cool and warm season pasture coverage is also available. Kennemer said, “NAP offers assistance to producers who suffer production losses due to disaster conditions and is offered in counties where crop insurance is not available. Producers should immediately contact the Douglas/Ozark County FSA office to obtain additional information and make an application.”
