The Ava High School golf team won the South Central Association championship at Willow Springs last week, and landed three players on the all-conference first team. Ava won the meet with a score of 323. Willow Springs placed second with a 334. Dustin Blackburn, of Houston, was the top scorer in the SCA. Ava's Josh Wendler (78), Tyler Williams (81) and Pete Leonard (81) also received first team honors. Trevor Watterson shot an 83 and was named second team all-SCA, and Taylor Wallace received honorable mention with a score of 88.
