Ava Band, Vocalist Receive I Ratings

Several Ava High School band students received I ratings for their performances at state music contest in Columbia last weekend.

Alyssa Eggleston, Ava High School junior, also received a I rating for her vocal solos at the state competition held in Columbia on April 26.

Alyssa sang an Italian song from The Marriage of Figaro entitled “Non So Piu Cosa Son” and “The Black Swan” from the opera entitled The Medium.

Band students receiving I ratings included Bradley Mills and Lindsey Armour for timpani solos, and Brandon Mills, Bradley Mills and Armour for a percussion trio.

Receiving II ratings at state were Beth Pennington, flute solo; flute trio (Pennington, Kyrie Miles and Brittney Page; Brandon Mills, timpani solo; Tina Epps, timpani solo; Samantha Martin, bass clarinet solo; Bradley Mills, multi percussion; Percussion 8; and Armour, mallet.
