The Ava High School boys' track team took first place in the SCA meet this week. Complete results have not been released by the host school at this time. However, Coach David Williams has results for Ava athletes. A first place at the conference meet merits first team all-conference for the athlete; a second place finish, second team all-conference; and third place, honorable mention. Ava athletes making first team all-SCA this year include 3200 meter relay team, Corey Neal, Joseph Dering, Jacob Schnieder and William Platt; Mark Philpott in 200m dash; Austin Maggard, 100m dash; 800m relay team of Maggard, Ely Parker, Ethan Horn and Philpott; Cody Cole in 400m dash, 800m run, and 1600m run; and Jake Plumb in long jump. Making second team were Platt in 1600m run and 800m run; 400m relay, Maggard, Parker, Horn, Philpott; and Damien Hutson in 300m hurdles. Receiving honorable mention: Philpott in 100m dash; Dering in 3200m run; 1600m relay team of Hutson, Platt, Schnieder and Cole; and Jonathan Otto in high jump. Ava Girls Place At Conference Meet Ava girls taking second place at the SCA meet were Samantha Gray in long jump; 4x800m relay team of Stephanie Maggard, Alyssa Moore, Nikki Rieken and Tina Epps; and 4x100m relay team of Brandy Graham, Kayley Watson, Katherine Moran and Gray. Receiving honorable mention were Graham in 100m dash; 4x200m relay team of Graham, Cheyanne Russ, Kayla Marrs and Gray; and the 4x400m relay team of Maggard, Russ, Watson and Rieken.
