Ava Lady Bears Host

On Monday, April 14, the Ava boys and girls tracksters hosted a 10-team meet. The Ava Lady Bears finished in 3rd place behind West Plains (lst) and Willow Springs, in 2nd place. In the 4x800-meter relay, the team of Stephanie Maggard, Alyssa Moore, Nikki Rieken and Tina Epps placed 5th.

The 4x100 team and 4x200 team both medaled by placing 3rd. Team members include Brandy Graham, Samantha Gray, Kristen Hastings with Kayley Watson in the 4x100 and Kayla Marrs in the 4x200.

The 4x400 team of Maggard, Rieken, Marrs, and Watson placed 3rd and medaled.

In individual events, Brittany Page threw the discus 77'4" to place 2nd.

In the shot put Candy Price threw 27'0" to place 2nd. Samantha Martin placed 3rd with a throw of 26'4", with Lindsey Armour close behind with 26'1" and placing 4th.
In the long jump, Ava had two in the top five with Samantha Gray placing 3rd with a jump of 13'2.5". Katherine Moran jumped 12'10" to place 5th.

Tina Epps triple jumped 27'3.5" to place 2nd. Kayley Watson placed 4th with a jump of 26' and Cally Wood was close behind in 5th place with a jump of 25'11.5."

In the high jump Melanie Lathrom cleared 4'3" to place 4th.
In the 100m open, Brandy Graham ran 13.91 seconds to place 4th.

Nikki Rieken ran a 1:08 to place 4th in the 400-meter dash.
In the 3200m run, Tina Epps set a personal record of 13:48 to place 4th.
