Ava FFA Chapter Will Observe

Feb 14, 2008

The Ava High School FFA Chapter will celebrate National FFA Week Feb. 16-23. “Blue Jackets, Bright Futures” is the theme this year and it embodies all the best about FFA members, from the most recognizable symbol of the organization, the blue corduroy jacket, a symbol of pride and tradition, to the bright future of agriculture and the traditions of leadership and hard work.

More than half a million members around the nation will participate in National FFA Week activities at the local and state levels.

As a part of National FFA Week, the Ava Chapter has activities scheduled each day next week. On Monday afternoon, chapter members will go bowling together. Tuesday is Western Day with open gym that evening with pizza. On Wednesday, members will wear their camouflage clothing for Camo Day and will also have a teacher appreciation barbecue.
Thursday next week is John Deere Day. Several FFA members will drive their tractors to school that day.

Members will round out the week on Friday, Feb. 22, with the annual FFA Supporters Breakfast. Friday will also be FFA Jacket Day, and members will be encouraged to wear their official FFA attire to school that day.

Ava High School FFA advisors are Brent Lakey and Andy Cook.
