Leslie A. Magoon Jr., 69, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Neosho, died on May 25, 2008, at his home in Tulsa following a lengthy illness. Mr. Magoon was born Sept. 4, 1938, in New Hampshire and had served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a machinist at Talbot Wire in Neosho and moved to Tulsa in 2005 from Neosho. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Leslie is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, who died in 1993. He is survived by a daughter, Teri Magoon, Tulsa; a son, Raymond Magoon and wife, Joy, Fayetteville, Ark.; his mother, Barbara Magoon, Ava; two brothers, Richard Magoon, Joplin, and Don Magoon, Norco, Calif.; one sister, Maxine Odom, Ava; and his faithful companion, Peanut, a chocolate lab. In addition to his wife, Charlene, he is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Magoon Sr. Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, with the Rev. Terry Swagerty officiating. Burial was in the Gibson Cemetery.
