Golda Lawrence, 99
Golda M. Lawrence, the daughter of Waymon L. Floyd and Sue Etta (Smith) Floyd, was born Aug.12, 1908 in Bradleyville, Mo., and departed this life June 2, 2008 at the age of 99 years 9 months and 20 days.
Golda was a lifelong resident of Bradleyville. On Sept. 14, 1928 Golda and William Elbert Lawrence were united in marriage. Elbert and Golda were blessed with one son. Golda was a farmer's wife, owned and operated a café in Bradleyville and taught school. Golda worked on the elections in Bradleyville and enjoyed that very much. She loved taking care of the great-grandchildren and had a part in raising all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going on car rides in her old car with Jamie. She was a member of the Bradleyville Church of the Nazarene.
Golda was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Guy Floyd, and her husband, Elbert.
She is survived by one son, Junior Lawrence, Bradleyville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Joe Lawrence, Brown Branch, Mo., Jeff Lawrence, McClurg, Mo., and Shirley Counts, Forsyth, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Tanya, David, Jason, Morgan, Jake and Shelby; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Vernon Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Dann Cemetery.
