Elmo L. Power, of Eagle Rock, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 19 days. Mr. Power was born March 20, 1930, in Ava, the son of Winfield Scott and Dicie Piland Power. He was a real estate broker and land developer, and loved to fish and spend time with his family. He married Betty Riddle on Aug. 5, 1950, in Monett, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, James R. Power, Mt. Vernon, and Robert Lynn Power, of Eagle Rock; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Long, San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, and two brothers, Cecil Ray Power and Ross Scott Power. Funeral services for Mr. Power will be at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, March 13) at Buchanan Funeral Home, in Monett. No visitation is planned but friends may call in the funeral home Wednesday afternoon. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
