Lena N. Robinson, 94
Lena N. Robinson, daughter of Eck Gardner and Matilda Nance Gardner, was born on May 24, 1913 in Almartha, and passed away on March 5, 2008 in Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 11 days.
Lena lived most of her life in Noble, in Ozark County. She was a housewife and farmer. On July 9, 1931, Lena and Virgil Olaf Robinson were united in marriage in Romance, and to this union three children were born. Lena enjoyed working on the farm with her husband. She also enjoyed cooking for her friends and family; picking wild blackberries, grapes and greens in the springtime and working in her garden. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. Lena enjoyed going to church and was a member of the Romance Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Doug.
Her survivors include one son and his wife, Russell and Pat Robinson, Mansfield; one daughter, Carlyon Lane, North Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern Erskine and Juanita Murphy, both of Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service were held Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m., in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Jackson Cemetery in Ozark County.
Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice of charity at the funeral home.
