Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of the Ava R-1 School District of Ava, Missouri, that three members will be elected to the Board of Education to fill one 1-year term and two 3-year terms at the April 3, 2007 election. Opening date for candidates to file for these positions is December 12, 2006, at 8 a.m. Candidates may file during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the district administration office located at 507 NE 3rd Street. The closing date for filing is January 16, 2007, at 5 p.m. The office will be closed December 22-January 1 for the holiday season and may be closed at other times due to inclement weather. Candidates must be at least 24 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a resident taxpayer of the district, and will have resided in the state of Missouri for a minimum of one year preceding the election.
