Douglas County Public Library

Apr 7, 2005

We would like to remind everyone about the special genealogy program at the Douglas County Public Library, Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m. Janet Ariciu will be sharing information with us about how to use any information you have accumulated in your genealogical research. Anyone interested in genealogy will not want to miss this.

Other programs we will be having this summer include Sandy Ray Chapin, who will speak about a his book, "Searching for Booger County," and magician, Teresa T., will be back with another magic show for the children.

Local author, Louise Jackson, formerly of Ava, will speak to children about writing and how she gets ideas for her stories.

Wanoa Corning, from Marionville, will be here with a program on Native American Arts and Heritage, and Springfieldian, Gorgon McCann, will come and present a musical program on traditional fiddling. That's all coming this summer.

Stop by the library and pick up a schedule of events.

Also, Judy Heier will be having children's reading programs for children ages three through 12 during June and July. The theme this year is, "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds." This is sure to be lots of fun for the kids.
