Ozarks Writers League To Meet February 19

Feb 17, 2005

Dan Case, author, editor, and publisher, will speak to Ozarks Writers League (OWL) members Saturday, February 19, about Promoting Your Writing on the Internet.

Case lives in Denton, Texas and publishes an online newsletter, Writing for Dollars. He also is the owner of AWOC Books, and publishes about five books annually, including last years Waltzing with Tumbleweeds by OWL member Dusty Richards. Dan co-wrote with Peggy Fielding the very successful, The Complete Guide to Writing and Selling Magazine Articles.
"Granny Dingles," AKA Betty Craker Henderson, former librarian, will kick off the morning session with folk traditions and a history of the Ozarks Hills in both prose and music. Betty plays in a bluegrass band and has authored books, magazine articles and writes two weekly newspaper columns.

OWL members will have a rare opportunity to share their work at this meeting's Open Mic Sessions, during both the morning and afternoon. Members are invited to read any of their work-from a novel, poem, short story, or essay-for five minutes. To reserve space, email OWL president Lou Turner at LouTurn@aol.com.

The OWL meeting will be held at the Plaster building at College of the Ozarks from 9:00 to 3:00 with registration from 8:15 to 9:00. Annual dues for full membership are $15 and may be paid at the door, or fee for one-time attendance is $10.
