Robert Dean Lewis

Dean Lewis, 77, of Mountain Grove, Mo., passed away at his home on Aug. 15, 2016.

Dean was born in Springfield, Mo., on May 6, 1939, to Gladys Dean and Jesse Clay Lewis, and grew up in Bradleyville, Mo. He lived many places including the Kansas City area, California, and Alabama, only to return to the Ozark Hills where he was most comfortable.

Dean loved working on cars, and owned and operated several auto body businesses during his lifetime.  Besides repairing cars, he loved to fix things around the house and help with projects. As a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, he was always willing to help anyone in need. When he wasn’t working, he loved to spend his time studying the Bible and traveling.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Kissee.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lay, and husband, Bob, of Independence, Mo.; and by his son Jeff Lewis, and wife, Hina, of Portland, Ore.  He is also survived by his niece, Roseanne Nekuda, and by three grandchildren, Katie Lay, Thomas Lay and Tenaya Lewis.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m., at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, 407 NE 5th  St., Ava, Mo.  Visitation will be Saturday, from 9 a.m. till service time, at the funeral home. Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc.
