Overnight Snowfall Tuesday Night

Those who got up early Wednesday morning saw that the Ava are received a light accumulation of snow overnight. Heavy snow began falling after 11 p.m. Tuesday, but with the ground still warm from several days of springlike temperatures and the air temperature remaining above freezing, the snow did not last long. This picture taken just after daylight Wednesday shows a small amount of snow on the grass, but nothing on the city streets. Ava’s total accumulation was only around one inch, but areas to the north and east received enough accumulation to close schools Wednesday.
