Local Business Owner Donates Summer

Local business owner Rachael Koch, of True Brew, has chosen to donate her summer to “The Summer of Service” through Calvary Chapel.

“Summer of Service” is an opportunity for people to donate their summer to help run a conference facility for missionaries.    The conference facility, which is located in Millstatt, Austria, is called Schloss Heroldeck and occupies an old castle.

During the summer months of June, July and August the conference center hosts large retreats for churches and Christian organizations from all over Europe.    Ms. Koch made it through a rigorous application process and interview to be one of only 30 worldwide chosen for this honor.

Volunteers pay their own way, are housed onsite and donate 40-80 hours per week.

In the absence of Ms. Koch, True Brew is being ably managed by Kathryn Picking and a hand-chosen crew.

This summer True Brew continues to offer their usual choices of delicious coffee drinks, smoothies, and fresh food favorites right here on the square in Ava. Drop by True Brew during the summer to support Ms. Picking as the staff looks forward to Ms. Koch’s return in September.
