Winifred Uhlmann Gentry

Funeral services for Winifred Uhlmann Gentry, 95, West Plains, Mo., were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gentry died at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2015, at West Vue Nursing Center, West Plains.
She was born May 4, 1920, at Buckhart, Douglas County, Mo., to Hugo Uhlmann and Lucy Dell Eaton Uhlmann.  She graduated from Ava High School on May 13, 1939 and on June 4, 1939, she was married at Buckhart, Mo., to Curtis Ruben “C.R.” Gentry, who preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2004.
Mrs. Gentry was a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge #77 for 66 years until the chapter closed. During her membership she held many offices, both locally and at the state level. Mrs. Gentry’s family was her focus in life.
She is survived by three children, Curtis Gentry and wife, Vera, Lacey’s Spring, Ala., Janice  Smith and husband, Kenneth, Houston, Ala., and Kenneth Gentry and wife, Janet, Joplin, Mo.; five grandchildren, Tammy Cooper and husband, Greg, Tracy Humphries and husband, Brent, Doug Gentry, Michael Gentry and wife, Amanda, and Matthew Gentry and wife, Mary; six great-grandchildren, Amber Lamb, husband, Jerrod, Heather Cooper, Aaron Cooper, Jessica Jones, Logan Humphries and Landon Humphries; one great-great-granddaughter, Oakleigh Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, two brothers, Oscar and Arno Uhlmann and two sisters, Freda Kutter Mertens and Ida Brazeal, preceded her in death.
Visitation was held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Society and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
