Haltoms Continue To Lead Ava Golf Team This Season

The Ava High School golf team competed in the MSU Relays in Springfield on April 9. Ava placed 9th as a team with a score of 343. West Plains was first with a team score of 310.
Ava senior Tristan Haltom and his brother, Taylor, a sophomore, led Ava and placed in the top five overall finishers.
The Haltoms, along with Josh Fronaburger, of Aurora, tied for fifth place with scores of 74.
Ava finished fourth among Class 1 and 2 schools, placing behind Mt. Vernon 318, Lamar 321, and Catholic 334.
Individual scores for Ava: Tristan Haltom 74, Taylor Haltom 74, Chandler Roberts 93, Titus Pinckney 102 and Chance Clevenhagen 111.
Tripper Jensen, of Mt. Vernon, was overall champion with a score of 67.
Ava played at Seymour April 14 and finished third behind Lebanon and Strafford.
The Yellowjackets turned in a low score of 337 with Strafford one stroke behind at 338. Ava came in with a 348.
Taylor Haltom was low individual with a 70, and Tristan Haltom was second with a 73.
Other scores for Ava were Roberts 102, Pinckney 103 and Clevenhagen 114.
