Roland Srader

Roland  Srader, 61 years, passed to his Heavenly home on Feb. 9, 2015 at his home in Ava with his wife, Nancy, by his side.
Roland was born May 23, 1953 in Albuquerque, N.M., to Floyd  and  Dorothy (Jones) Srader. He graduated high school from Oklahoma City, Okla.
He served his country and was a U. S. Air Force veteran.
Roland was a resident of the Ava area for 17 years moving from Camp Verde,  Ariz. Roland was a copy machine repairman and owner and operator, with his wife, Nancy of Independent Copy Center on the Ava square. Roland met Nancy Hawk at Advanced Copy Systems in Phoenix in 1981 and they left together in 1986 to start Independent Copier Service in Camp Verde. Then, on May 27, 1989 Roland and Nancy were united in marriage in Camp Verde.
Roland was a Christian. He was active in the community and had served on the Ava Area Chamber of Commerce Board. He enjoyed gardening, but  found the Missouri rocks a challenge. His big garden turned into a smaller garden every year. Roland loved watching TV at home in his recliner. While at work on his lunch break, he enjoyed playing video poker. Roland and Nancy were always a team, working together and being together every step of the way.
Roland was preceded in death by parents and two brothers, Robert and Kenneth.
Roland is survived by his wife, Nancy Hawk, Ava, Mo.; one brother, Tom Srader and wife, RoseAnn, of Minnesota; one sister, DeNelda Burke, of Texas; uncle and aunt, Al and Melva Jones, Oklahoma City, Okla.; nephews, nieces and a host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of Roland’s life will be Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Mo. Officiating will be Pastor “Butch” McCleary and Pastor Robert Sorensen. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
