Ava Art Guild Workshop Saturday

The leaves are falling and the temperatures are dropping and the Ava Art Guild is winding down for the year. But it is not too late to go to one more workshop, do some Christmas shopping and browsing of art.
The fall art show is now over with some great entries both adult and junior. Visitors were asked to vote for People’s Choice and the winners were Wilma Fish with an acrylic painting “The Lane to Romance and the under 18 winner was Chalice Sleep with a pencil drawing titled “Fuzzy Friends.”
This year the Festival of Arts has been canceled due to conflict of schedule but will be back next year.
The last workshop of the year will be a fun one. Tamara Griswold will lead attendees in polymer clay ornaments. Everyone will be making one for the Heart of the Ozarks Food Harvest to be given in the annual food baskets and then one for your own tree.
Tamara makes really cute figures with clay and will make it easy and fun to make some of our own. The workshop will be on November 8 and it is free and open to the public. All supplies are provided by the Art Guild, it starts with social time at 1 p.m., business meeting at 1:30 and workshop at 2 p.m.
Workshops are held in the gallery at 303 E Washington Ave, (across from the Douglas County Herald office). The next workshop will be the second Saturday of March with the workshop being a “show and tell” giving attendees a chance to show what they have made over the winter. It is also a great time to meet new people and reunite with artists to visit and inspire each other after the long hibernation.
