Hootin’ An’ Hollarin’ is just 3-1/2 weeks away and folks will be coming from near and far away to see old friends and enjoy going back in time with the older exhibits and crafts.

A belated birthday wish August 19th to Irene Corp, her 88th! How time flies when you are busy and having fun! She was staying all night with her daughter, Cecelia and Jack Stone, when her sister’s “children” came from Broken Arrow, OK. and Joyce and Rick Hunt from Wichita, KS. They ate at Chen’s Restaurant in Mountain Home together. From Broken Arrow were Jimmy Groves, Lynetta Edward, Jody Parks and Maureen Anderson. Terry Warnick took them all out for breakfast Saturday morning.
I enoyed visiting by phone with my son, Lyndon Pitcock, in Fair Grove, Sunday afternoon. Also had a call from daughter, Kristin Luebbert, in Oregon one day the past week. And son, Marlyn in Forsyth.
Prayers are for Anna Larson who is at her home. And for Maxine Smith who is still recuperating from injuries.
Loretta (Carroll) Crewse, from Springfield, visited Johnalee Suter. They attended Leroy McGinnis’ 85th birthday celebration in Cuba, MO. Loretta visited from Thursday until Monday at Johnalee’s.
Lily Ridge Bible study group meets Thursday mornings in the fellowship hall led by Randie Schmucker, at the church.
There was a baptismal service Sunday morning for two young men.
If we don’t get rain soon I have some young trees and shrubs that are not going to survive this summer heat. One is a dogwood that had been growing really well, set out last fall.
A thought to remember, “you cannot live a perfect day without doing someone a good deed who will never by able to repay you.”
