A “baby-to-be” shower was given to Jaime and Eric King in the fellowship hall Sunday afternoon at Lilly Ridge. They received nice gifts.
After Sunday evening services the drawing for the quilt was held and Ida Mae Huse was the winner. The quilt was in memory of T.D. and Valeta Crawford and was made and dontaed by Ted and Ethel DeWeese. Benefits from the sale of tickets go toward improvement of the parking lot.

The ladies tea that was held at the Historium Thursday was a great success and enjoyed by over 60 women and we had a good program on antiques following the luncheon given by a man from Ava.
Catalpa worms are eating on my tree leaves so it’s time for fishermen to use them for bait.
Happy 3rd birthday on August 6th to my great granddaughter, Chloe Mae Wright in Fair Grove. She is granddaughter of Lyndon and Linaia Pitcock.
Friendly Neighbors Extension Club is to be at the health center basement this Thursday, August 7th at 10 a.m.

I appreciate Junior and Shirley Sisney for nice garden vegetables. They are really a treat. This has been a great growing season for those who have gardens. I also appreciate Marcia Lyon for some good corn last week. She was on the square with a pickup load of garden vegetables. It was certainly a job to produce, pick and prepare for selling all the vegetables and fruits.
