Mt. Tabor Church

We sang a verse of Amazing Grace before we continued with prayer requests, which were many, for friends, family and the situations in our country. We pray, also,  for those who have lost loved ones and our search for a pastor.

Brother Ric read Judges 6, the story of Gideon. This is a very familiar scripture, this being the beginning of that story.

The church family had dinner for Brother Ric, Lisa, Haley and Brianna after service, Sunday. This Sunday will be his last, as he moves on to pursue other interests. The church also presented them with an appreciation gift.

The Missouri Assn. Fifth Sunday meeting will begin Friday night, at Romance, everyone is encouraged to attended.

Our sympathy to Trellis Hathcock, in the loss of his wife, Wanda. Though they lived in Marshfield, they both grew up in this community. Her funeral is Friday at 10 a.m. in Marshfield. Trellis is Martin Hathcock’s brother.

Bill Johnson and dad, Raymond, stopped by Sunday morning to visit Harold Hutchison.

Ronda Soto spent Tuesday with her dad, Martin Hathcock, also, Jim Hathcock visited one day. Martin is still not up to par.

Visitors recently with Tom and Jewell Elliott were James Elliott, Albert Elliott, Carla Hearod, Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, Logan and MaKayla. They had a nice surprise when Nina Carter brought her cousin, Andy Tyler, of Hico, TX. to visit, Saturday evening. Mr. Tyler is also a cousin of Tom Elliott. Andy and Tom are great-grandsons of the late Mary Jane Rippee Elliott Tyler.  He and Nina are second cousins through  the Spurrier family, with lots of roots in Douglas County.  Andy joined Mt. Tabor Church for lunch, Sunday, before joining Nina in a sight seeing tour.

Lucille DeBerry spent Friday and Saturday with Harold and Kay Hutchison.

Kim Clements celebrated her birthday, Thursday, with lots of well wishes on Facebook, from family and friends. Dylan and Morgan came after school with dinner as a treat for Mom.

Kay Hutchison had a short visit with Ruth Shumate and her grandchildren, Tuesday afternoon. Ruth and sister, Ruby, have been busy canning, kind of a hot job right now.
