Wednesday evening Bible Study began at 7 p.m. Bro. Hi Lambeth led singing. Bro. Hi was in charge of the service tonight. He asked for testimonies and prayer requests. Several requests were mantioned. Sister Lila led us in prayer. Sister Melba taught our young people. They are learning a lot of Bible verses. So far they have learned the books of the Bible, Ten Commandments and Psalms 23. We had a good service. We were dismissed in prayer by Sis. Doris.
Sunday school opened with singing praises to the Lord. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Jack took prayer requests and praise reports. We have many concerns. Sis. Elsie Combs led in prayer. Jack read II Corinthians 5:16-21 for our devotion. We can become new creatures through Christ.
After a very good Sunday school lesson Happy Anniversary was sung to Pastor Bill and Melba Austin. God bless them. Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.
Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Jeff Shipley, Janice Lafferty and Melba Austin. We continued with congregational singing. Melissa Harmon did special music. Pastor spoke this morning from Matthew 9:14-17. What must I do to be saved? Are we willing to do the commandments of God? Are we trying to add new things to the old way? Are we causing troubles? Are we telling people the right way to Christ? Are we telling them the things of God? Let’s serve the Lord with our heart. Seek the Lord and ask Him to show you the way. Bro. Roger dismissed us in prayer.
Sunday evening service began with Bro. Hi leading us in singing. Bro. Jeff took prayr requests. We have lots to pray about. One thing we are praying for is rain. Sister Lila led us in prayer. Bro. Bill preached from Matthew 22, beginning with verse 15. The Pharisees were always trying to entangle Jesus in an argument and we have some kind of people like that today. Not really wanting to know the truth. Jesus was always able to give the correct answer. We must study the word today to be able to give an answer to anyone that might ask us hard questions. We need to be able to help anyone know the way of salvation. We must all be good witnesses for Christ. The only way to do this is to study God’s word and live a prayer filled life. Bro. Jeff will be our leader Wednesday night. We were dismissed in prayer by Sis. Doris.
