Sunday morning service was opened with music and songs, prayer requests and prayer, then more hymns and the pledge to the American Flag.
Brother Roberts brought the message from Psalms 33:12, “America.”
Sunday evening was our Freedom Celebration at Walnut Grove Church. A large crowd enjoyed the bountiful supply of wonderful food, visiting with everyone, games for the kids, popcorn, snowcones, the beautiful music and then the large display of fireworks.
I went to Mansfield one day with Bevy Moore and we stopped and visited with my mom, Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams.
One day Norman Rosseau brought us a small mess of fresh green beans and some cucumbers. I cooked the beans with some new potatoes that Delmar had growing in the yard. Another day, Violet Blakey brought us a large bag of fresh green beans and Beth Stafford and I snapped them for cooking. This morning, we woke up to find several bags of frozen peaches on our front porch. We appreciate it Connie Burris. I sure appreciate the good friends and family who bring us fresh garden stuff. Now I am cooking some of the frozen fruit to make butter…yummy with homemade biscuits and butter.
Those visiting us this week were Keith and Donna Bannister, Bevy Moore, Beth Stafford, Johnathon Snelson, Roy Johnson, Michelle Engelhart, Darrell Logan who put shingles on the porch roof for Delmar.
Delmar and I attended the celebration at Heart of the Ozarks. It was fun and had lots of activities going on including good music, exhibits , drawings (which I won one,) lots of people visiting, buying food and crafts, campaigning, fishing, games and etc.
Until next week, I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July. Please remember that freedom is not free.
