Wednesday evening Caney Church met to praise the Lord and study His word. Bro. Bill Austin took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jeff Shipley led us in prayer. Bill had several scriptures and talked about earthly riches and how people are not satisfied or happy and content. We are truly rich when we try to follow Christ. He will give us love, joy, peace that is worth more than the whole world. Everyone had great scripture and good thoughts. We pray that all would have a desire to serve the Lord.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were taken. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Jack read Ephesians 4:7-16 for our devotion. The Lord gave us all some gifts to use for him. We all have grace and love to get and give.
After a great Sunday school lesson Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.
Praise and Worship hour began with testimonies by Lorrinda Coulter, Elsie Combs, Jim Lafferty, Hi Lambeth, Melissa Harmon, Jeff Shipley and Bill Austin. Service moved onto congregational singing. Singing special music was Melissa Harmon and Melba Austin. Pastor Bill brought the morning message from Psalm 89:15-17 and Numbers 23. The most joyful sound we will hear is the words, “you are forgiven.” The world doesn’t want to hear this or Christians praising the Lord. The world wants to destroy God’s word and His people, but that will never happen. There is nothing better than the words of God. Be glad if yu can hear them with your heart as well as your ears.
Sunday evening service began with singing praises to the Lord. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the services. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Hi Lambeth gave a testimony. We are so thankful for all that testify of God’s goodness. Bro. Jim was our speaker Sunday evening. His scripture was Gal. 4:8-11 and Hebrews 5:12-14. Christ is our last and only hope to make Heaven. Christ died for you, accept Him and then try to live for Him so you can have eternal life. The world has left this great blessing behind. It seems to not care where they will be in eternity. Christ is the only way.
We truly heard from the Lord today in the message and teachings He gave the people in our church who allowed God to use them.
Come be with us at Caney. You are always welcome.
