Visiting in the Nina Carter home the week of the fourth was her son and family, Dan and Kellie Carter, grandsons, Jayme and Jakob, granddaughter, Faith. They came in June 3oth from Loxahatchee, Florida and went home July 8. They had a wonderful time and got to see fireworks set off on the 4th.
Last Monday I took my news in and then I headed for Branson to the Castle View RV Resort where Vernal and Ellen Blakey had their RV already set up because Ellen’s mother, Deloris has been down there.
I had a wonderful time, but I walked on their asphalt too much and my legs and feet gave me some trouble.
Vernal came down Thursday and spent the rest of the week, Ellen came down Thursday and spent the weekend and then Vernal and Ellen went back home Sunday.
Monice Reemes came over and visited on the fourth until she had to go to work at the Shepherd of the Hills, but she ate some blackberry cobbler that I had made, but didn’t get to stay long enough for the homemade ice cream, and was it ever good.
We went up to the Castle and watched all the fireworks go off everywhere then they ate the cobbler and I helped with the ice cream.
Saturday evening we went over to Kimberling City to Les and Shirley Muncy’s friends, Don and Nescel Harms, and watched fireworks down by the river and all over and it was beautiful. A few years ago we went over there and watched the fireworks, but we ate supper before it got dark and this time we had barbecue ribs and they were good.
I came home this Monday and on my way home I stopped by Mary Blakey’s and gave her some of the Blakey address books and then I stopped by and saw Harold Hutchison and Kay before coming on home to find that I couldn’t get in my house because the screen door was locked. Ellis came over and got it open for me. I had .6 of an inch of rain in my rain gauge when I got here.
Lets keep our sick folks in our prayers because there are new ones out there every day.
My prayers and sympathy goes out to all the ones who have lost a loved one and especially to Joe Slater and family.
Lets keep our leaders and the men and women in the service and their families and the ones in training in our prayers.
