We are so grateful for all the good rains that we have been getting this month. June is starting off very good, weather wise. This has been a sad time in this area due to the passing of a well-known and much loved member of the Goodhope community, Richard Mitchell. He will be missed by all, but especially his family. Prayers for them all. Only God can heal a broken heart.
We had a good church service at Mt. Olive this past Sunday with attendance down a little bit, but looking for it to pick up next week. Missed those that didn’t make it this week. Janie is still not feeling like coming to church. Pray for her as she is getting better, but slowly. Several from our church went over to Eastern Gate Church and joined them in celebrating their Homecoming Day. We enjoyed good food and fellowship and singing and testimony service in the afternoon. We got to visit with some ladies, Jane and Gracie, that we don’t see often and it’s always good to be in church with Roger and Irene, my brother and sister-in-law. Our homecoming service will be June 22 and we invite all to come out and be with us. There will be dinner at noon and then singing and testimony service in the afternoon. Mt Olive has been an organized church for well over one hundred years so I’m sure there are lots of people who have good memories of the fourth Sunday in June all day services. So come out and be with us. And remember … God plus one is always a majority! … “If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31.
