MoDOT Will Hold Open House Meeting Here Next Thursday

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be at Ava City Hall next Thursday, June 26, for a town hall meeting to gain input from residents regarding projects and improvements.
After years of work by local planning agencies and transportation partners, Missourians are now asked to weigh in on a list of transportation projects and improvements that could improve safety, create jobs and boost Missouri’s economy.
The Missouri Department of Transportation has coordinated a series of open house meetings to ask residents to take a look at the draft list of local priorities and share their comments.
The list is a provision of Constitutional Amendment 7, an Aug. 5 ballot measure to temporarily raise Missouri’s sales tax by ¾ cent.
The open house public meeting will be open from 4:30 to 6 p.m. No formal presentations will be made.
Ava City Hall is located at 127 SW 2nd Avenue, just off the southwest corner of the Ava square.
The public meeting schedule, the draft transportation improvement list, and an online comment form are available at http://www.modot.org/moving forward. The comment period will close at 5 p.m., July 3.
A similar open house public meeting will be held at Gainesville Senior Center, 307 E. High Street, in Gainesville, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 23.
