Hello from our home to your home. We are busy getting ready for our 29th Annual 4th of July Celebration, which will be held on June 27th with Roger Flint opening the event with prayer and followed by the traditional Color Guard with the reading of the Pledge of Alliance. Missy Breshears will open up the entertainment followed by Backyard Bluegrass, Southern Streak and Taylor Thompson. We will be having a silent auction. The Emerson trout pond will be here, along with the Pearly Gates Petting Zoo, Pony rides, Bingo with the team from Copeland, dunking booth and free bouncers for the kids. B.A.C.A. will be playing games, Jam Dandy will be here, Kiwanis funnel cakes, Project Graduation snow cones, quirky knots, jewelry, finger printing by the Sheriff’s Department, cotton candy by Marty, Alice Fleetwood’s homemade BBQ Sauce, kettle corn and this is just to name a few of the booths. Remember we have shuttle parking at the Super 8 and Murphy’s and Zane Gray’s empty lot. The two shuttles will be running starting at 5:45 and run until the end of the event. Ava General Baptist and Highway Church of the Nazarene will be operating the shuttles with the Ava United Methodist Church bringing their big bus for transportion after the event.
We always appreciate our wonderful volunteers, they brighten up our lives: Evelyn Harper, Judy Kent, Carrie McIntosh, the 1st Sonshine Group, Whitney Pollard and all of the church groups. We appreciate everything that you do.
Life Church was here for the Sunday afternoon service. Several family members were here for the Sunday afternoon service.
Sharon Stewart brought residents down for the service.
We also had a good visit with Bob Melton in the dining room. We saw him visiting with Pat Clubb, and I asked him his name. Shame on me because I knew him as a boy, his parents and grandparents, but had not known him as an adult, but he knew me. We began to talk about family. It just shows how time passes and we lose touch with friends. It was good to see Bob and renew our friendship.
We would like to welcome our new residents to our home, they are Leroy Smith, Dale Ross, Rosa Anderson and Winnie Schmeling.
God Bless You From Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.
