Eugene L. Creasey, 72

Eugene L. Creasey, 72 years, 9 months, and 10 days old, passed to Heaven on June 2, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Eugene was born Aug. 24, 1941 in Benton, Ark., to Ruel and Dorothy (Fuller) Creasey.
Gene and Betty Lynn Crumbley were united in marriage on May 8, 1993 at Little Rock, Ark.
Gene retired from the United States Marine Corp. He served three tours in Vietnam and attained the rank of Gunnery Sgt.  Later he was  an over-the-road truck driver.
Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing, and working with his tractor. He loved being in and observing nature. He loved  embarrassing his grandchildren and bantering with people. His daughter noted that he “had a grumpy sense of humor.” Gene had a heart of gold and would give or do anything for a friend or stranger.
Gene was preceded by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Creasey.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; his children, Steven Creasey, Jodi Saldana, Amanda and Frankie Creel, Lonnie Melton, Lisa and Preston Breshears, Dennis and Pam White; his grandchildren, Anthony, Cindi, Jessica, Melissa, Ashley, Corey, Bryan, Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Sarah; and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Delbert Creasey; sisters, Joyce Sparks and Doris Creasey.
A casual graveside service for Gene will be Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at Dyer Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, June 7,  from 10 a.m. to service time at the cemetery (in case of inclement weather, services will be moved to the Clinkingbeard Chapel). Officiating will be Pastor Buddy Boyd.  Memorials may be made to the local VFW Chapter or Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
