As the month of April had showers of rain, May brings us flowers. We also enjoyed flowers in April. I have Chinese Money plants blooming now with their purple blooms.

It was great to receive my first Mother’s Day card already, just a few days early, to be remembered.

With grass growing so fast it is going to be a hard job to keep up with mowing a big yard.

Friendly Neighbors Extension Club met Thursday with Edith McKinnon, hostess at the Health Center basement in Gainesville. A donation for the Hammond Camp was made and plans to make ribbons for the quilt show at Hootin’ An’ Hollarin’. There were seven members and one visitor present. New members are welcome to join.

A correction in my last weeks news column is that in Gainesville Eastern Star Chapter on April 14th our Worthy Matron was Paralee Rea instead of Joy Cutbirth as I wrote it.

Another nice surprise on Saturday, May 3rd when the youth group of our church was out visiting and bringing flowers for the older ladies enjoyment, honoring mothers, Samantha Mayberry and girls brought my potted plant, and I appreciated it very much.

I was sorry to hear Kent Suter has had so many health problems. Best wishes to him.

Edith McKinnon’s granddaughter, Sharon Garcia Sally had her 12th birthday. Happy Birthday Sharon.

Lilly Ridge Church bi-monthly dinner was Sunday following morning services. Singing was Sunday evening and business meeting. Our fall evangelist was voted to be Zack Williams, if he is available to come.

Randie Schmucker is getting a ladies Bible study group started on the first Tuesday of this month and each week following. Everyone is invited to attend.
