Mt. Olive Church

I hope every church and its congregation had a wonderful Lord’s Day. We had a good service at Mt. Olive and hope everyone received a blessing for coming out and praising the Lord. Our service opened with scripture reading from Isaiah 40: 1-8. Opening prayer was led by Sister Hazel. Our Adult  Sunday School  started the book of Psalm this week . We would like to have a lot of people come out for Sunday School. It is a good way to study the Bible. It really helps to have different views on scripture as you read and study.

Special songs were sung by our kids. They do a great job and we are so proud of them. Worship service started with Jerry taking his text from Hebrews 7:25. “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him. Seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” The theme of his sermon was based on the fact that we serve a God who is able to do all things. He saves to the uttermost. He is able to do that.

Next Saturday, May 10th, we will have a fish fry at the church, beginning at 5. We invite everyone to come join us. We are looking forward to good food and a time for just visiting with one another. God is good. Sunday, May, 11th, is Mother’s Day.  If she lives close by, drop by and visit for awhile. She will be happy you did.  Happy birthday to Jerry, May 2. The church bought a beautiful cake and ice cream and we all enjoyed our dessert before lunch. Logan and Jerry really liked that!!!!  Happy anniversary wishes go to Loren and Hazel Maggard on their 9th year together.

Our sympathy and prayers go to the Larry Clayton family, in the loss of their loved one. He will be missed by all who knew him. He always had a smile and a cheerful, how are you, everytime I saw him.

Remember this week that life moves quickly, so take time to tell those who mean the most to you, that you are glad they are a part of your life.  …” Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling, Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. Psalms: 2:11_12.
