Hello from our home to your home, we greet you again from the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO. Our home is really looking beautiful with lovely plants and floweres all around after a work day by all the team leaders who whole heartedly worked all day in cleaning the grounds and planting new blossoms.
Our new gazebo in front is a lovely place for our music groups during our 29th Annual 4th of July Celebration which will be held on June 27th. Missy Breshears and the Color Guard will open up our program, followed by the Backyard Bluegrass, Southern Streak, Mariah Thomas and Taylor Thompson. Thompson recently opened up the act Granger Smith /Earl Dribbles, Jrs. and will be opening up for Chris Cagle sometime in June.
A group of the marketing personal helped out with Summerfest, playing old time games at the park. Everyone had a good time with the sack races being the hit of the morning. Later in the afternoon Tonya Cutbirth took her daughter Macee, to the Ava Airport for a plane ride around Ava.
It is once again time for our annual Ms. Missouri Nursing Home Pageant for District IV. It will be held on June 17th at 9:30 at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center in Springfield, MO. Mrs. LaVern Ashby was nominated to represent our home at the pageant. LaVern is a lovely lady well known to our community after working for many years with the Division of Family Services. She accepted the honor of representing our Home in this annual event. Maxine Lirley has been the respresentive for our home for two years and won 1st place and 2nd place. We are glad LaVern agreed to run this year . Let’s help her all that we can.
I know all the new plants are enjoying these showers of rain to help set new roots. Rocco waters everyday when it is not raining and on the weekends staff waters the flowers.
This Friday afternoon we will be having a watermelon feed in the main dining room, a gift from Galen Hall, Maxine’s brother from California. We appreciate it, Galen. An ice cream treat will come later.
We are anxious for our therapy room to be completed. It is going to be great and improve our department to twice it’s size.
Most all of us need to keep our limbs as strong as possible. It is important to our health and well being. And this will increase the possibility.
Our prayers and sympathy go out to the family of Virgil McCarty, who passed away Saturday morning. Virgil served our country in World War II and he will be missed at our home.
Congratulations to Lorado Uhrich, Lena Goss and Lorene Maloney on getting to go home this past week. They worked hard in therapy and were able to go home for the holidays.
God bless you from Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.
