Another busy week up on this hill! Greg Nasif came to paint some ceilings, two coats of paint/primer and it has so brightened the house. I took down multiples of cookie tins from above the kitchen cabinets and they will go into the garage sale we hope to have before too long! The kitchen now looks larger. I also went through some boxes in the shed and found some interesting items, not mine.
One of those items was a box of china and silverware that came here from when Rory had the shop next door (now Bob and Dana Wagner’s place). Rory’s daughter Lindsay is visiting from California and those two joined me in looking in those boxes on Friday. Come to find out, the china and silverware came from Lindsay’s other grandmother. It seems no one had any idea where these items were for several years. Now Lindsay has taken the boxes to her mother at Grove Springs. Rory, Lindsay and I had several quiet hours to visit and get caught up. Ordinarily there are several here and quiet visiting just doesn’t happen. A most enjoyable day!
Saturday was a wonderful day for Ron Boeddeker as he graduated Magna Cum Laude at Drury in Springfield, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He did some of his classes while he worked in Alaska, some on-line, and some in classes in Ava and Springfield. Needless to say, this mother is quite proud of his accomplishment.
I had a dog boarder for a few days, delightful well behaved big dog. Lots of phone calls came this past week from family and friends to see if I am handling this A-Fib situation. It is annoying to say the least and I take a lot of little rests between various chores. As my dear mother used to say, “Getting old ain’t for sissies!” I had a little “spell” on Sunday and a friend drove me home from church as I was a bit light headed.
No news filtering in, weather has been tolerable. Hope all is well with all of you.
