May 10 – Wishing all the mothers a blessed day.
Sunday school opened with singing and praising the Lord. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were received. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Jack read John 10:1-10 for our devotion. There is only one way and that’s Jesus way, only through the blood.
After a wonderful Sunday school lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Kourtney Shipley. God bless. The youth sang while offering was received.
Praise and Worship began with a testimony from Jeff Shipley. We then progressed on to congregational singing. Our guest speaker was Bro. Randy Dalton. He read Psalms 114, Rev. 12 and 13. Christ should be our home, our safe place. We need to be set apart from the world. We need the Lord to guide us every day. We don’t know what’s coming in our lives, but God does. It was a message for the time we live in. Bro. Bill Austin opened service taking prayer requests. Sis. Frances Humbyrd led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Laquita Dalton, Ethel Metcalf and a visitor I didn’t know. Ethal Metcalf did special music. Bro. Randy Dalton was our speaker Sunday evening. He spoke from Psalms 114:3. We need to get on our faces before God until we hear from Him. What are our children being taught in Sunday school? What are we using to teach them with? Even the adults? Are we using the Bible?
Does God need to change or do we? We need to take up the cross and follow Christ. Remember the former things of old: For I am God, and there is none else; I am God and there is none like me. It is a personal choice and relationship. Randy brought us a message from the wonderful words of life.
