Caney Church

On this beautiful Wednesday evening Caney Church met to praise the Lord and learn more of His word. Service opened with singing. Bro. Hi Lambeth took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayer. Sis. Ethel Metcalf sang for us. Bro. Hi read Exodus 32. He talked about how man turned from God. God was so angry with the Israelites he wanted to destroy them, but after talking with Moses God repented and didn’t destroy them. Moses was angry and broke the tablets and ground up the golden calf. He put the gold in their water and made them drink it. Moses gave them a chance to serve God and those that didn’t were killed. Moses asked for forgiveness for all the people. God has much mercy for us all. All that wanted had scripture and that’s to share. We were all blessed by the scripture that were read and the discussion we had.

Our prayer is that more would come. If Christians aren’t concerned enough to be in service, how can we expect the world to be interested?

April 27th – Sunday school opening with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Jack read John 1:10-18 for our devotion. We had a good Sunday school lesson and a good discussion.

Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Melba Austin, Melissa Harmon, Jack Essary and Hi Lambeth. We continued on with congregational singing. Melissa Harmon and Melba Austin both did specials. Pastor Bill spoke this morning from Psalms 127, I Corinthians 3:10-11. Except for the grace of God where would you be? Are we building on the foundation of Christ? Are you building a house you can live in? Do you know you are the temple of God. We need to ask God to help us build. People are falling away from God. You can tell by all the empty pews. We cancelled Sunday evening due to storms and high water.

May 4th – Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were received. Jack read Psalms 91 for our devotion. After a good Sunday school lesson we began the praise and worship with testimonies from Jeff Shipley, Jim Lafferty, Elsie Combs and Melissa Harmon. We then had congregational singing. Melissa Harmon did a special.

Pastor Bill spoke this morning from Psalms 20:1-2. The Lord hears us when we pray. He gives us strength in our time of troubles. God will use people to help others if people will follow Christ.

Sunday evening we met together praising the Lord in song. Bro. Jeff welcomed everyone. Praise reports and prayer requests received. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer.

Praise and Worship began with testimonies from Bill Austin, Janice Lafferty and Melba Austin.

Bro. Jim Lafferty spoke this Sunday evening. He brought his message from John 6:64-71. Jesus knows our hearts He knows how sincere we are. Are we truly serving God? Do we really believe in Christ and His power? We need to be fully persuaded. He will do what He says He will do.

We pray we would be a soul winning station not an entertainment center here at Caney.

We are blessed with God called people to teach and preach. If you are looking for a home church come try Caney. You are welcome.
