Does anyone know if this little cold spell was blackerry winter? Boy I hope so because I am ready for warmth, but again, God knows what we need.
Our Sunday school began with the reading of Psalms 121. Opening prayer was offered by Danny Lee. Our lesson today come from Hebrews, chapter 13. Although some have said Hebrews was written by someone else perhaps Barnabas, Luke or Clement of Rome, most Bible scholars credit to Paul because of the style. There had been some disagreement within the church and Paul is trying to pull them back together. He is encouraging brotherly love continue and sitting down instructionas on submission to those who are over them in teaching grace. These leaders would have to give an account of their gospel work and it is being done for their spiritual growth and good.
We began our worship with congregational and special singing. We are blessed to have Brother Keith Moore from the Gideons bring the message today. I love to hear the testimonies of those who accepted the Lord by receiving a Bible or New Testament the Gideons freely give. We who were raised up in Christian homes need to really appreciate our God fearing parents. I think we were spared many darts Satan throws by the prayers of our Christian parents. When the Gideons share the stories of how big a difference the Bible and New Testaments have had on hopeless lives, words cannot describe how much it lifts my heart. I pray God’s blessing on this organization and I am enlightened that God permits the continuing distribution of His Holy Word.
May God bless you all this week and remember the special service we will be having at Stillings Cemetery, Sunday, May 25th, 2014 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
