T.O.P.S.

T.O.P.S. was called to order by Sharon at 3:45. There was a combined weight loss of 11 pounds with 14 weighing in, and Clara was the highest loser. The lesson was “The Wonders of Walking” and was given by our Area Captain, Beverly.

Walking is the easiest and least expensive form of exercise. Beverly suggested deliberately walking a little farther every day and using a pedometer to monitor our steps. That way we can challenge ourselves by increasing our steps say from a couch potato 2000 steps a day, to 2500, then after a week or two, to 3000 or more, until we are at a more healthy number. And it is important to have fun!  Have a walking buddy, or take the dog for a walk, or just walk indoors. Every step helps you to be more healthy..

T.O.P.S (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non profit international weight loss support group open to anyone 7 years of age or older. T.O.P.S meets from 3pm to 4:30pm in the basement of the courthouse. Come and visit us to find out more about T.O.P.S. We welcome anyone looking to get and stay healthy.
