“I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: ‘Please, Lord, save me!’” Psalm116:1-4 (NLT)
Even in your darkest moments your Heavenly Dad is there. Not passively, but bending towards you. He’s listening to your cries, waiting for that moment to rescue you from your hopelessness. He desires to forgive you and to free you from the prison of sorrow you are in. Just ask Him, He is ready.
The freedom Jesus gives us is so amazing that when you experience it, it’s almost like you are finally waking up out of a thick fog that you’ve been living in your whole life. After I was saved the sun in the sky seemed brighter; the colors of the trees and grass were more brilliant than I had ever seen them! A friend told me last week that she even notices an intensity of fragrances around her now. That this is the first time she feels alive! Ephesians 5:14 says “for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, ’Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’”
I have experienced His freedom firsthand. The weight of all I experienced and did in my life was removed from my shoulders. The shame of it all is gone. I can boldly share my story, even the ugliest of my sins, without hesitation because I know and believe that Jesus will use it to save someone else from slavery! I am not a prisoner to the people who look at me with judgment and contempt. I am not bound by rumors and lies that swirl around the gossip pool. The religious pharisees of our time cannot erase the plan God has written out for my life or my husbands. This life is not our own but His and we live it to reach as many of you as possible who are desperate to be rescued. To introduce you to the One who can save you.
“So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.” Colossians 1:28-29
So, you who are broken/hurt/addicted/abandoned/hopeless, He will relieve your suffering! Go to Jesus. He is waiting for you.
“In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years.” Isaiah 63:9 (NLT)
