T.O.P.S.

T.O.P.S. was called to order by Sharon at 3:45. There was a combined weight loss of 16 3/4 pounds with 18 weighing in, and Billy was the highest loser. The lesson was “Ways to Overcome the Winter Blues” and was given by Margaret.

Remember that during the winter, especially when the weather is dreary, we tend to crave carbs to combat the blues. Instead, some sensible things to do are to 1) turn on the lights! 2) Move more, even if we don’t feel like it, 3) Limit caffeine and eat wisely 4) Go outside, just to get some fresh air and 5) if things are really bad,  seek counseling. The Winter Blues can be a really tough time and it’s worth the effort to take care of yourself.

T.O.P.S (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit international weight loss support group open to anyone 7 years of age or older. T.O.P.S meets from 3pm to 4:30pm in the basement of the courthouse. Come and visit us to find out more about T.O.P.S. We welcome anyone looking to get and stay healthy.
