Prom festivities are underway at Ava High School. Students and staff members are busy planning and fundraising to make this exciting night of dinner and dancing something the students of AHS will remember. A new prom activity is being held this year to get parents and community members more involved. PROMenade provides an opportunity for patrons to not only see all the students dressed up but to also take pictures as the students are introduced. “These students spend a lot of time getting ready, and this is a great opportunity for others to get to see them,” explains Chelsey Gilmore, prom sponsor. PROMenade will be held Saturday, March 29th in the Performing Arts Center and the doors will open at 4:30 pm and students will begin coming in at 5:00 pm. Students will be announced and brought onto the stage for attendees to take pictures. Students will then board charter busses and head to Springfield. Sponsor Janell Embrey added, “Prom is an exciting time and we would love to see the community there to share in the excitement.” The cost for PROMenade is $2 per person and all proceeds go to the Ava High School Prom fund.
