What a glorious Sunday we enjoyed here in Southern Missouri this last weekend. We trust yours was likewise with beautiful weather and the presence of the Lord. It just doesn’t get much better.
Our services started with our Sunday school lesson, “Worthy is the Lamb.” It really doesn’t get any better than that. Then we sang praises to the Lord and proceeded in worship service with the message “Christ the Door” from our text in John 10.
We explored how a door is so much more than just a hole in the wall and how it separates, yet unifies, admits, yet excludes and how at present, it is open to all who will come to Him in acceptance of Christ as Lord of their lives. But, if we fail to make that choice, as we are told in the parable of the five foolish and five wise virgins, there will come a time when the door will be closed, and then no one will be permitted to enter in.
The evening message was taken from Acts 1:14, where the Disciples of Christ were gathered, “In one accord and in one place.” The point being that our churches today need to follow the example of the New Testament churches and proceed to spread the Gospel of Christ, in one accord, of one mind, one purpose and one Spirit, that being the mind, purpose and Spirit of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We plan on watching the movie “Courageous” with our youth group tomorrow night.
We hope you will come and be our guest some Sunday morning. We still have a seat, just your size. “Reserved” if necessary. God bless.
