NORWOOD GLEANINGS

Howdy. Norwood is awful small, so when you’ve been around a long time and hear of someone that passes away, it affects almost everyone and that is what I saw Thursday evening when I went to Craig-Hurtt to pay my respects to the Harris family. Martha passed away and everyone from years ago came. It was nice to see a lot of faces that I haven’t seen for years. Martha was a fun woman. She started selling Home Interior around 1978 and I figure almost every home had invited her into a party. And she was good at it. Last summer she wanted to see people enjoying her pool, so I took the girls when I could. She was my friend and she will be missed.

Jonas Yutzy’s father passed away in Florida. So they just got back from being gone a week, taking care of the arrangements. We are sorry for your loss.

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up. Don’t forget to wear green or you might get pinched.

On the good side of things. My brother, Tim Bruffett went to Africa on a mission trip with his church and hadn’t been home very long until they packed their bags (this time he included his wife, Annett) and went to Hawaii for their annual vacation. There is something that Hawaii has that keeps calling little brother to it. He’s gone around six times that I know of.

Payton McDaris is finally not going to be raised by himself. Levi and Stacy found out that they are expecting again. Congratulations.

I found out this week that we do have someone that fixes tires for you.

Our anniversary this week is John and Bernetta Williams, celebrating 39 years together on the 6th. They are back in Arkansas pastoring a church. Lee and Sue Forrest’s anniversary is on the 9th and my school mate, Elaine (Bennett) and Curtis Prewett will celebrate 25 years on the 11th. Their silver anniversary. Congratulations Boog.

Fun Facts: In 1979 the people voted to keep the school system as it is and not consolidate with Mansfield or Mountain Grove.

Thought: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Other words make the best of it.

Until next week, God bless our little town.
